I loved Carrie's green dress in the last few scenes with her and Mr Big at home and it led to me noticing that Carrie is always dressed up, no matter the weather, even when she is just chilling at home...I am inspired to be fabulous, at all times!!

My version of SATC2..fabulosity!
Sex and the City 2

I literally cannot explain my excitement when I went to watch Sex and The City 2! I must admit though that I have never watched the series but am a big fan of the movie, I am planning somewhere in the near future to find the time to actually watch the series though. There were so many other ladies there (as only can be expected), everyone had come with their best gal pals and I was forced to drag my boyfriend along due to miscommunication with a friend and was very impressed because he was on his best behaviour, didn't complain once!
Much like the fabulosity of the characters of Sex and the City it seems like there's an unspoken rule that you have to look fabulous just to go and watch the movie because you could tell that everyone had made the extra effort to look fabulous ;) I will rate the movie on all the different elements that stood out for me.
Fashion: 10/10
Loved, loved, loved the fashion!! The one thing that stood out for me about this move is the fashion and I had the same expectations with the sequel and they delivered. At some point, I actually thought that the characters were changing clothes in every scene because we just kept being dazzled by ensembles with every second breath. I just heard "oohs" and "aaahs" in the cinema and comments like "that shoe" oh " that dress", literally jaw-dropping. I loved Carrie's shoes & shades in the opening scene, Charlotte's deep pink dress in the "lunch in the desert" scene and almost all of Miranda's outfits!!

I love Charlotte's and Miranda's dresses in the above pic, understated glam!

Location: 8/10
New York: We didn't see much of New York in this movie but loved the opening track with Alicia Key's rendition of Empire State of Mind, when I go New York one day, i will walk the streets with that song playing on my ipod.
Abu Dhabi: I think the girls all-expenses-paid trip made Abu Dhabi seem so stunning, I doubt that I would have my own Maybach waiting to take me to my hotel upon my arrival. Their trip was any girls dream come true - up until Samanatha was caught "kissing" of course! Nonetheless I still saw side of it that I would have never dreamed that there could be, it was such a complementary background to the fashion, the girls dresses were so easy-flowing and laid back. I loved the camel rides and am not so sure about lunch in the desert, not in that kind of heat!

I love Carrie and Miranda's dresses in this pic and would rock Samantha's pants to a hot party!
I love, love Charlotte's dress in this pic, I really want it!!
Storyline: 4/10
If you go to watch this move with expectation of a substantial plot, please leave that notion at home because this movie is all things airy-fairy and how the hell do you expect to focus on all the fashion with a dramatic storyline?? I mean really!! I loved the nanny storyline and the fact that my boyfriend knows that he will never ever see a nanny that looks like that in our household ever, brought a smile to my face! I was disappointed that nothing much happened around Miranda or Samantha and the Carrie, Aidan and Big storyline was disappointing.

Gay wedding: 8/10
The gay choir was awesome, what an idea, i was really blown away by that even the swans could have stole that limelight. Liza Minnelli singing "All the Single Ladies" was the cherry on top, she did it justice, with such chutzpah and Sasha fierce attitude.

All in all I was very happy, I loved the movie and I think even my boyfriend enjoyed it although I doubt he would ever admit it. All my fashionably forward ladies, don't miss this one!!

The Final 23!
Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira had the painful job of selecting the South African World Cup Squad from the 28 hopefuls that have been strutting their talent in the last few weeks friendly matches. I am very happy with majority of the selection and also believe that the Coach really knows what he is doing, he has proven this in the last 11 games.
Below are all the successful players that will be representing South Africa at the FIFA 2010 World Cup:
Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune (Kaizer Chiefs), Moeneeb Josephs (Orlando Pirates), Shu-Aib Walters (Maritzburg United).
Defenders: Matthew Booth, Siboniso Gaxa (Mamelodi Sundowns), Bongani Khumalo (SuperSport United), Tsepo Masilela (Maccabi Haifa, Israel), Aaron Mokoena (Portsmouth, England), Anele Ngcongca (Racing Genk, Belgium), Siyabonga Sangweni (Golden Arrows), Lucas Thwala (Pirates).
Midfielders: Surprise Moriri, Lance Davids (Ajax Cape Town), Kagisho Dikgacoi (Fulham, England), Teko Modise (Pirates), Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siphiwe Tshabalala (both Kaizer Chiefs), Steven Pienaar (Everton, England), Macbeth Sibaya (Rubin Kazan, Russia), Thanduyise Khuboni (Golden Arrows).
Strikers: Katlego Mphela (Sundowns), Siyabonga Nomvethe (Moroka Swallows), Bernard Parker (FC Twente, Holland).
And not included in the squad are the following:
Rowen Fernandez (Arminia Bielefeld),
Rowen Fernandez (Arminia Bielefeld),
Innocent Mdledle (Mamelodi Sundowns)
Benni McCarthy (West Ham),
Andile Jali (Orlando Pirates),
Franklin Cale (Mamelodi Sundowns)
I feel really sorry for Benni McCarthy because he has the experience to be part of the squad and despite his weight issues, I feel that he would have delivered at the World Cup. The twitter "fat" jokes aren't helping his situation either in terms of garnering sympathy after losing such a great opportunity, I cannot imagine how he must be feeling and hope he is consoled by at least by still being able to experience such a great event at home.I am also disappointed that Aaron Mokoena made the final squad as I do not believe that he deserves to be in, it seems like just because he's the captain he is somehow immune from not being selected. He is a certified liability and am pretty sure that he will be the cause of a few penalties and free kicks from the opposition teams during the World Cup, don't say I didn't tell you!
All things said though, it is a soccer player's dream AND a great honour & privilege to wear the green and yellow jersey and we want the boys to wear it with pride, SHAPA BAFANA SHAPA!!
Congratulations to all those that made it!

A record-breaking perfomance by Bafana Bafana!!

I always blame my love for soccer or "the beautiful game" as I prefer to refer to it on my father and brothers. Being the only girl at home, I never had much of a choice as to whether or not we were going to watch soccer on a Saturday, it was a given. I love "the beautiful game" so much that if my team is losing, it takes an emotional toll on me and yes I am the type of fan that screams and shouts vehemently throughout the game.
Bafana Bafana's game last night vs Guatemala was one of those games and I was so happy that I was shouting and screaming happily as the boys delivered a sterling performance! The only ranting I did was directed at our captain Aaron "Mbazo" Mokoena who is notorious for moemish's at the worst of times but that is a story for another day.

Bafana Bafana have been undefeated in their last 11 games which also coincides with when Parreira took over as coach from Santana. The difference in the team's performance is vast and the past few games have given their confidence and morale a deserving boost. Last night's 5-0 win was also the first time that a Bafana Bafana team scored more than 4 goals in an international match, hence why it was a record-breaking performance.
It also garnered more support for Bafana Bafana from South Africans and elevated the levels of excitement and confidence for the 11th of June when they take on Mexico.

We are so proud of you boys and we are behind you all the way!
GO BAFANA BAFANA!
Baby No.21...Mazeltov!

On my way to work today I heard that our president Jacob Zuma is expecting Baby number 21 from wife number 4 Nompumelelo Ntuli.
I decided not to focus on all my negative thoughts related to this issue and our dear presidents past but rather on the positive. I prefer that JZ increases the number of children that he has rather than the number of wives because judging by his actions, he has made it clear that he always makes or finds the time to satisfy his needs despite his hectic and very busy schedule. As long as it is with one of his current 3 wives, all is well!
It also ensures more stability for the unborn child who will be brought by both parents, because JZ is more likely to be able to spend time with all his children if he only has 3 wives to visit rather than the inverse. I wish MaNtuli a healthy pregnancy and Mazeltov to both her & JZ!!
